Coral Vine, also known as antigonon leptopus, is a captivating and versatile climbing vine that can bring a touch of tropical elegance to any garden. With its stunning clusters of pink or white flowers that resemble delicate coral, this plant is a true showstopper.  It is an excellent plant to add a burst of color and charm to any landscape.

Coral Vine bloomsOriginating from Mexico and Central America, Coral Vine is a fast-growing perennial that can quickly cover trellises, arbors, or fences, creating a lush and eye-catching display. Its heart-shaped leaves provide a beautiful backdrop for the vibrant blooms.  The flowers can appear throughout the growing season, from summer to fall.

Not only is Coral Vine a visual delight, but it’s also a low-maintenance and drought-tolerant plant, making it an excellent choice for gardeners of all skill levels.

In the Austin area, it thrives as it is able to handle the hot Texas summers with little care.  This pink blooming vine is a popular option in Austin as it grows quickly, attracts the bees and butterflies and is drought tolerant.

Here in Austin, generally, it will die down in the winter and come back from the roots.  We do recommend planting alongside a trellis or hog panel type of fence as it will need something to climb.

Whether you’re looking to add a touch of the tropics to your outdoor space or create a stunning focal point, Coral Vine is a must-have addition to your garden.
